About Jacinto Enterprises

The history: "It all started with a door"

When professor Jacinto graduated from high school, his ambition was to work in the field of the studio arts. the problem was that he had no idea how to get started. Although the professors at Ventura College helped him develop his skills, there were no real answers to what direction to go. in fact, there really was no place to obtain an apprenticeship.

Arnulfo had been working in small sign shops as well as very small art studios to gain some experience, but still it was hard to find real experience in the art field. Another problem was his love for the fine arts as well as the commercial illustration side of the arts. his professors and other professionals continued to advise him to choose one or the other.

In 1986 Arnulfo won the sweepstakes award in visual arts in a county-wide competition in Ventura County. He was inspired to start his own studio. He failed in several attempts but was not deterred. He excelled in other Sports and Job endeavors, but finally decided to go back to school. he was accepted to University of Southern California's Roski School of Art and design and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

When he graduated, his first working assignment was to work on the set of the motion picture "The Grinch who stole Christmas" then he obtained a job as an airbrush supervisor for a billboard manufacturing company.

In 2009 Arnulfo was reunited with his College sweetheart, and they married in December of 2011.  The couple decided to leave California and move to Virginia. Alisa encouraged him to pursue dream of obtaining his masters degree from Liberty University.  Ever the over-achiever, he obtained two Degrees: Master in Teaching, Secondary level from the School of Education as well as his  Masters degree in Studio and Digital arts from the School of Communication and Studio & Digital Arts.

During this time, Arnulfo was asked to help with the set of the Thomas Road's Christmas Spectacular and make a door look old and worn out, then stone, then brick and tile. When the community saw his work, suddenly schools, community theaters and even upscale entertainment theatre auditoriums in the area began to request his services. "It all began with a door" became Arnulfo and Alisa's theme. With Arnulfo as Artistic director and Alisa as executive administration director and assistant, they were soon doing between 31 to 40 sets and murals a year. This was the beginning of AJ Squared Productions.

Soon requests came in for portraits and fine art, which became a second branch known as Jacinto Studios.  Arnulfo's rollerbots became popular with kids, teens, and adults alike and soon requests for stickers and merchandise were selling and a new branding was created known as ROLLERBOT KINGDOM.

Finally in 2017 the business came under the umbrella of JACINTO ENTERPRISES and today there are 5 subsidiaries under JACINTO ENTERPRISES, and it continues to grow.

Our Story

When Arnulfo and Alisa arrived in Lynchburg, the goal was for her to work full time while he obtained both masters degrees. He would then teach studio and digital arts at a university or high school level. however, this was not the direction they went. In fact, Alisa's job offers that had been arranged before moving to Virginia were suddenly rescinded, so she found herself interviewing for jobs for the next 15 months. arnulfo had to juggle the demands of his classes while taking on "odds and ends jobs."  Neither planned to start their own business: Alisa had no interest in becoming an entrepreneur, and Arnulfo wanted to teach because of the lack of real visual art teachers in high school and most universities.

Eventually, though, it became apparent that the demand for Arnulfo's skill set was undeniable, so they took both their skill sets and developed a business force they did not expect. "It all started with a door" was not just a phrase, but an actual event. Alisa could see the full potential in her husband's skill set and not only encouraged him to do the sets for Lynchburg and the surrounding areas but to expand his talents. So they started Jacinto Enterprises, comprised of Jacinto Studios for custom fine art and AJ Squared Productions for set designs and scenic painting.

Arnulfo was able to focus on design and illustration concept and scenic painting while Alisa focused on keeping the schedule and maintaining the budget of the company while assisting in the painting.  In actuality, Alisa was responsible for the revival of the ROLLERBOTS and incorporating them into the sets.  They are now a tradition in all the sets they paint.  They are even featured in Arnulfo's YouTube channel ARTIFAX. where they interact with Arnulfo.  Each of the subsidiaries were developed out of a specific need within the company. Two more subsidiaries are now in development: STUDIO 23 & ROLLERBOT ANIMATION.
